HOMEFAiR'08 gives away RM68,000 in prizes

JOHOR BARU: An electrical company manager, who visited a home fair at a whim during her lunch break, was elated when she ended up winning a television set worth RM5,000.

Norazah Ibrahim, 26, who went to the fair with her colleagues, filled up the forms for the visitors lucky draw and won the grand prize – a 40" LCD television set.

“Now I have a bigger TV for my home," said Norazah, who will move to her new house after she gets married next month.

“It is the first time I've won anything in a lucky draw," she said.
The exhibition, HOMEFAiR '08, was held at Persada Johor recently.
It was organised by X Two Media Sdn Bhd and attracted thousands of visitors.
There were seminars, cooking demonstrations and an interior design clinic at the fair to give visitors useful pointers on furnishing their homes.

“The purpose of the fair is to provide a one-stop outlet for those looking for new houses or interested in renovating their homes," said show director Jonest Wong.

He explained that the fair also filled the needs of those looking for home products such as house alarms, flooring, curtains and kitchen cabinets.
The exhibition was spiced with lucky draws which offered RM68,000 worth of prizes for shoppers and visitors.

Another first-time winner was businessman Yee Hi Kong, who walked away with a built-in oven and microwave oven, which was the first prize at the Shop-and-Win lucky draw.

Yee, 40, was visiting the fair with his family to purchase a plasma television for his home in Taman Impian Emas when he won the prizes worth RM7,700.
“My wife was very pleased as we do not own an oven," said Yee.

“My children and I are happy as we will get to eat food like baked chicken, cakes and cookies," said Yee.

The next home fair at Persada Johor from Oct 10 to 12 will feature a beauty and bridal display.
