JOHOR BARU: A total of 80 companies are expected to take part in this year’s Homefair 07 exhibition on properties and home decorations to be held in Persada beginning today.
X Two Media trade show manager Jonest Wong said it was the first time so many companies would be taking part in the exhibition since the company started organising such events over the past three years.
“We will have at least 170 booths," he said, adding that there would be between RM3mil and RM5mil worth of products on display.
Wong said the exhibition would be a one-stop centre for people to purchase property, renovate homes and furnish them.“We expect a crowd of between 30,000 and 50,000 during the three-day exhibition," he said, adding that lucky visitors, including Singaporeans, who spend RM150 during the exhibition, stand to walk away with RM35,000 worth of prizes including a 32" television. Wong said that celebrity interior designer Eric Leong would make an appearance.
He said, since 2003, the company had seen a steady increase in the number of companies participating and the number of visitors.
“We started with only 22 booths. Now, it has grown more than eight times the size," he said, adding that the exhibition was timely for the state, especially in line with the mammoth Iskandar Development Region.
Admission is free and the exhibition is open from 11am to 9pm daily at Persada International Convention Centre in Jalan Abdullah Ibrahim.
